CLEAN WATER FOR 180,000 PEOPLE IN PUERTO RICO
United for Puerto Rico provides Phase II Grant to Proyecto Agua Limpia
AUSTIN, TEXAS April 24, 2018 -- H2O Worldwide Group, a global distributor for KOHLER Clarity™, announced a disaster relief grant from United for Puerto Rico. The grant will be received by H2O Worldwide's partner in Puerto Rico, The Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust, and will allow for the purchase and distribution of 30,000 KOHLER Clarity™ water filtration units. Proyecto Agua Limpia was established after Hurricane Maria in order to provide clean drinking water to those in need. This project has successfully delivered over 2,000 units to date, and the Phase II grant will provide much needed additional help to local residents.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to provide clean drinking water to 180,000 people in Puerto Rico," said Craig W. Rider, president of H2O Worldwide Group. "The need for potable water in Puerto Rico is still extremely high and we are thankful to United for Puerto Rico for understanding the tremendous impact Proyecto Agua Limpia is having for the people who were most affected by Hurricane Maria."
KOHLER Clarity™ filters are used for humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts and are effective in removing dangerous contaminants such as E.coli, cholera and leptospirosis all of which are or have been present in the water supply in Puerto Rico. One filter can provide clean water to a family of 5 to 6 for over 6 months.
